This certification is preceded by VCPI designation as a StormReady® Supporter by the National Weather Service (NWS) on May 12, 2009. This designation will be valid through May 12, 2012. VCPI is the third StormReady® Supporter in Wisconsin.
In a ceremony on Wednesday July 22rd 2009, Loren Claypool of VCPI was presented with the StormReady Supporter certification by Rusty Kapela of the National Weather Service (NWS).
The purpose of the StormReady program is to protect lives by involving the private sector in preparedness for severe storms including tornados.
To the support the StormReady program VCPI has nine trained volunteer storm spotters making up the VCPI StormReady team. The VCP StormReady Team covers both VCPI offices, all shifts, and uses the latest technology in monitoring severe weather to protect VCPI staff and advise the NWS regarding severe weather around the VCPI offices.
Loren Claypool: “VCPI is proud to have the StormReady Team in place to protect our staff so that our staff can serve the needs of the senior living community through better service to VCPI clients”.
