VCPI to offer insight on how LTPAC providers can successfully leverage technology to assist in compliance efforts.
MILWAUKEE, MARCH 3, 2014 – Senior Living and Post-Acute Care technology solutions partner VCPI is proud to be a premier sponsor of the 2014 Spring AHCA NCAL and IO Conferences, to be held in Las Vegas from March 11-14.
VCPI Healthcare Analytics Consultant Janine Savage, RN, RAC-CT, CHC, will again be a featured presenter at the AHCA IO Conference March 12-14. A recognized LTPAC industry veteran and thought-leader, Savage has presented extensively on compliance, health information technology and clinical topics at state and national conferences. She co-developed the Savage-Gutkind EMR Implementation Model that considered an industry standard and has been cited in multiple white papers, publications and presentations. At the Conference she’ll share her insight and expertise with her session entitled Technology and Compliance: a Match Made in Healthcare?
“The Affordable Care Act (ACA) required all Medicare and Medicaid providers to have in operation an effective compliance and ethics program as of March, 2013,” said Savage. “While many Senior Living and Post-Acute Care providers see technology as an area of risk, it can be successfully leveraged to assist in an organization’s compliance efforts.”
Her presentation will address how integrating technology into a compliance program can make it more effective and efficient, where technology can present risks for providers and recommend strategies for how to manage and mitigate those risks. Several technology and compliance “hot topics” will be a part of the discussion, including electronic health records, data and business intelligence, document management, electronic communications, social media, cloud computing, mobile device management, business continuity planning, and disaster response.
